Raghuram Govind Rajan, who predicted the global financial crisis in 2005, will take over at the RBI fromDuvvuri Subbarao (22nd Governor of Reserve Bank of India).Raghuram Rajan, currently the Chief Economic Advisor to the government of India was appointed the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) governor for next three years.
Rajan will replace Subbarao, who completes his five-year term onSeptember 4, and will be the 23rd Governor of the central bank.
